Chief Davie Summey

Cedar Mountain Volunteer Fire & Rescue
Chief Davie Summey joined Cedar Mountain Volunteer Fire Department in 1984 and worked his way through the ranks to Chief in 1995, a position he currently holds. He is an Honor Graduate of Gaston College with an AAS Degree in Fire Protection Technology and in Emergency Preparedness Technology. He holds several certifications in the fire service, including:

He was the Chief of the Year for the Western North Carolina Firefighters Association in 2003.
During his 25 plus years chief Summey has helped move Cedar Mountain into a state of the art facility with 8 apparatus bays and has been essential in acquiring grants from various sources to update equipment and facilities including the new station.
He has served on the board previously working his way through the chairs and held the position of President for the Board in 2006-2007.
