Message from NCAFC President Chief Brian Causey

It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve you as the President of the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs. I look forward to serving this outstanding organization.

This year, our theme is "Bringing People Together."

Our fire service is strongest when we learn from one another, support one another, and build relationships that extend beyond our own departments. While our uniforms may differ, our communities may vary in size, and our challenges may not always be the same, our mission remains constant—to serve with excellence and lead with integrity.

Over the coming year, I want us to place a renewed emphasis on networking and collaboration. Every seminar, every conference, and every meeting should be more than an educational event—they should become opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and build partnerships that make us all better leaders.

We have introduced new initiatives within the NCAFC designed to encourage engagement across every level of our association. Whether you are a seasoned chief officer, a first-time attendee, or an aspiring leader, I want you to feel welcomed, valued, and connected. Together, we can create opportunities to mentor, innovate, and strengthen the future of the North Carolina fire service.

As we move forward, I challenge each of you to reach out to someone you do not know, share your experiences, ask questions, and build relationships. The conversations we have today could become the solutions we need tomorrow.

Thank you for your commitment to this profession and to this association. I am excited about what we can accomplish—not as individuals, but as one united fire service.
