Chief Allen Wilson

Eastern Director

Surf City Fire Department

Allen Wilson currently serves as a board member of the Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association and is looking forward to continuing to serve our eastern fire departments by running for the Eastern Director Board Position for the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs.

Chief Wilson is a 30-year veteran of North Carolina’s fire service. He started his service as a volunteer with the Eastern Pines Volunteer Fire Department in Pitt County in 1993. He started his career service with the Winston-Salem Fire Department and now serves as the fire chief for the Surf City Fire Department in Pender County.

Chief Wilson is a graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy and holds the Chief Fire Officer designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. He has worked his way through the ranks of volunteer, combination, and all career departments to hold the positions of firefighter, lieutenant, safety officer, training officer, engineer, administrator, fire marshal, assistant chief, and fire chief.

He believes that his experience in volunteer, combination, and career fire departments gives him a unique skill set to represent all the departments in Eastern North Carolina. He looks forward to working together to combat the issues facing us.
