Assistant Chief Jason Edwards has served as a career and volunteer firefighter in Nash County for over twenty-four years. After rising to Battalion Chief with the Nashville Fire Department, he joined the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal in 2018 as a Training Specialist.

 

He returned to the Nashville Fire Department in 2022 as the first full-time Assistant Fire Chief of Operations and Training. Chief Edwards holds an A.A.S. in Emergency Management from Nash Community College, Chief Officer certifications from UNC Charlotte and MFRI, and multiple North Carolina fire and rescue certifications. He also serves on the Eastern Carolina Firefighters Association, the North Carolina Certification Board, and the Nash County Fire & Rescue Association.  

 

Outside the fire service, Chief Edwards has been married to his wife, Ashley, for eighteen years, and they have three daughters: Charlotte, Abigail, and Addison.
