COVID-19 Virus
While the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs (NCAFC) has put in place preventative measures in alliance with CDC guidelines designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19, I understand that my attendance at the 2021 Mid-Winter Conference in Concord, NC, may expose me to an increased risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus. Furthermore, I understand that the 2021 Mid-Winter Conference cannot guarantee that I will not become infected with COVID-19. I hereby acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending 2021 Mid-Winter Conference and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death.
By attending this event, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs Board, 2021 Mid-Winter Conference Committee, its agents, and its representatives, of and from any Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to my voluntary attendance at the 2021 Mid-Winter Conference. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of 2021 Mid-Winter Conference, the NCAFC Board and employees, its agents, and its representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in 2021 Mid-Winter Conference.
