Join Us For Legislative Day
May 4, 2017
The NC State Firefighters’ Association and the NC Association of Fire Chiefs invite you to attend Fire Service Legislative Day Thursday, May 4th, in Raleigh. We will meet at 8:00 on the 4th floor of the Nature Research Center, 121 West Jones Street (Parking info below or CLICK HERE for a map). We’ll start with a quick briefing and then proceed over to the Legislative Building for a group picture on the red carpet steps. Between 11:30 and 1:00 lunch will be available, provided by the NC Association of Fire Chief’s, on the 4th floor of the Nature Research Center, 121 West Jones Street.
Both Chambers are in session at 10:00, and many legislators leave early on Thursday afternoon when session is over. PLEASE CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES OFFICE AND SCHEDULE A TIME TO MEET WITH THEM BEFORE OR AFTER SESSION.
Since both Chambers are in Session at 10:00, we’ll try to sit as many as we can in the balcony of both the Senate and House Chambers for the opening of session. This will provide us a great opportunity for visibility as a group.
The impact of a large group of uniformed firefighters in the Legislative Building at one time is awesome, and speaks volumes when we ask for legislation. PLEASE SCHEDULE TO ATTEND.
We will have a display set up in one of the quadrants of the Legislative Building so legislators can stop by and chat. Please drop by during the day between visitations and chat with other fire service personnel and legislative members.
Schedule (Individual Visits can and Should be Scheduled Throughout the Day).
